When beginning the journey with Fitness First I was excited and was very unsure of what I was getting myself into. I was not feeling very confident in the exercise component.
I really didn’t think too much about why I was doing this but then I realised it was to better myself for not only me but for my new family. When I’m not happy with myself it reflects onto my mood.
I didn’t realise till now how unhappy I was with my body and how much I have changed since becoming a mum. I’m so blessed to have my beautiful little boy but you lose some of your identity when you become a mum, for the reason that all of your energy and time goes into supporting your child. This experience has already shown me you need to learn to take time for yourself.
When meeting up with my personal trainer Nathan I was quite frightened to say the least!
Our first session together pushed me to my limits, and I was feeling quite tight and drained for a few days after. I hadn’t exercised for at least twelve months. So far I have been attending classes such as Pilates, Circuit and yoga. I’m starting to feel more energised and feel my body changing.
It has been really easy to schedule my classes as the gym I attend has a Playzone, where the beautiful ladies look after my little man whilst I’m working out. I feel at ease knowing he is in good hands.
I can confidently say only being a short way into this experiment I will continue having fitness and fitness first in my life for years to come. Investing in my health has been the greatest decision I have made for me and my family.
I’m exhilarated and nervous to see what I’m going to feel and look like in twelve weeks!
